I'm on holiday with my 14 yo DD and I've fallen ill.
I didn't think of bringing games but we need some quiet activities to do at our holiday lodge. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Bird listening - get the Merlin app.
Are you in a safe area - CentreParcs etc? 14 is old enough to do organised activities on their own.
Encourage your DD to make the most outragous stacked burgers - you'll get fed and she'll have a laugh

Plane app?
Boat app? Find some interesting and bizarre info on the coming and goings near you in air /sea..
*depends where your trip is!!

What about making up an RPG type game like dungeons and dragons but without the complicated rules system. So she picks a character and you come up with a scenario and then you present her with options (if you want to scaffold it; you can leave her to see the options for herself if you prefer) and she takes an action, and then you tell her what happens next. We once did this when I was laid up with a severe back injury and DH was trying to do the very boring task of hand-cleaning the appalling carpet of the place we'd just moved into.

Great ideas!
Yes we are in a French campsite so plenty of activities for her to do but she doesn't want to, grr.

14yo is likely to be in the easily grump about a lot of things age, just wants to be on their phone watching videos or playing games?

What sort of ill are you - fatigued, or feverish and vomiting kind of spectrum?

Outsmarted is a quiz app game. Think I seen it talked about on here over Christmas, it's really good fun and the time flies when playing it.

Hope you get better soon

The old fashioned games,
I Spy
Hunt the Thimble
Name that Tune
Charades
Twenty Questions
Have a tray with items on it. Look at it for 30 seconds, cover it and try to remember what’s on it.

I went to the shop and bought Apples, Bananas, Carrots, can make it harder by having categories such as just animals, sweets, produce and so on.
