I finished GCSEs, started A-levels and went to some pretty bad teen parties full of alcopops. Hooch anyone?

Titanic was the movie to see. South Park was the new show to watch. The newspapers were full of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. I wasted away a lot of time on the Internet, at great expense back then. No mobile phone yet though and I don’t think I’d even heard of text messages.

How about you?

Getting married.
Taking NHS issue crutches on honeymoon because I'd fractured my ankle the previous month..
Started my first career (which I ditched when I had dc some years later).

i was 18 and failing my A-Levels after being raped the previous year and struggling to deal with everything. I was drinking to bury my pain.

Engaged to my now husband, very much in love and having a great time going out and about together and planning our future . We're still very happily married with a lovely son. I also completed my B tec in Childcare that year (completed my Degree three years previously but couldn't get a job in my field), nannied locally for the summer before beginning work as a Family Support Worker in the October. I stayed there for 9 years but I've been a TA for the last 18.

I was 27, engaged to my now husband and working in my dream job (media) … hard to believe that was almost 30 years ago! I still work in the media and we are still together with two adult sons. Wish I weighed the same as I did back then, definitely carrying some extra menopausal pounds! The 90s were a fun decade for me.

I was struggling. DD was born in 1997 and I had low key PND. My mum was acting weird and I wasn’t getting the support I’d been promised…turns out it was early onset Alzheimer’s disease showing itself…life was a shitshow for the next 15 years

I'm in the same school year group as you!

I did a French exchange trip that summer with students from across Europe. We all stayed in a lycee just outside of Paris and worked together over a week to put on a theatre show.

We spent long days chilling out in the park. The boys would bring their guitars and play the same three Oasis songs over and over again. I had added brightly coloured triangular strips of fabric to the bottom of my jeans to create flairs.

Good times 😁
