Help finding a decent sofa retailer...

I hope the wise women of MN can help with this.

It's the first time I'm buying a really big, potentially expensive couch. And I'm struggling to know where to get it. We never had one at home growing up.

I want a sectional ideally, to go in a kind of L shape. Definitely big enough for two people to stretch out on. Both slim but one is 6'2 and has an injury in their leg so needs to keep it up.

I've heard that a lot of the well known ones that advertised on telly are massively overpriced.

There's one online shop that looks better but I've seen a few one star reviews which concern me. Saying they make you pay to take it away if it's faulty.

It also needs to fit up a flight of fairly tight stairs in an old house.

Ideally I don't want the rigid foam type ones like from IKEA, more like with down or fluffy stuffing in the cushions. I used to like some of the ones in the Habitat showroom but that's long gone.

Budget upto about £2.5k.

If anyone has any good or bad experiences, or has worked in the furniture industry please do help me out and share your views/experiences.

MTIA x

I bought a Barker and Stonehouse one second hand off eBay and it’s pretty fantastic. Think it would have been about £2.5-3k new.

Long Eaton sofas in the Midlands were bloody brilliant making my leather sofa. Worth a look!

Thank you! I'm based in London and don't drive but if they deliver it could work. X
