Food for me.

I reckon I could plan better in advance, shop less and minimise waste.

I agree, food waste is my biggest issue.

YodasHairyButt · 06/07/2025 12:44

Takeaway cappuccinos. A total unnecessary extravagance and I daren’t add up how much I spend on them. Maybe I should and shock myself into going home and putting the kettle on instead!

blackheartsgirl · 06/07/2025 12:46

Food and at the moment and take aways

only 3 of us at home now (2 fussy teens) and the amount we spend on food is ridiculous

MycatLarry · 06/07/2025 12:49

Amazon

Eastendboysandwestendgirls · 06/07/2025 12:49

Alcohol.
Restaurants.
ETA- apologies for cheating and posting 2!

Whataday25 · 06/07/2025 12:50

Oh I have a fussy teen too 😬

So many - but Amazon and Gym add-ons

I am training myself to leave things in my Amazon basket for a while before pressing the button. Instant gratification is so easy with Amazon…

IDontDrinkTea · 06/07/2025 12:51

Entertaining the children. I could probably utilise cheaper days out, or trips to the library or something, but I love watching them have fun

MidnightPatrol · 06/07/2025 12:51

I don’t have a budget at all, so have no idea if my spending changes month to month.

I could probably save a lot by doing this. I’m not a huge spender, but some planning would presumably make a difference.

Aaron95 · 06/07/2025 12:52

Socialising - pub, restaurants etc.

Food - we could live off potatoes and beans if we chose to but quite like other foods.

TourdeFrance2025 · 06/07/2025 13:01

if I had to, food. I guess. For health/medication taking purposes I'm buying more expensive food options, but I'm not wasting food. I could happily live on very cheap carbs (things on toast/sandwiches etc) but I need protein, vegetables etc & reduce carbs as much as possible.

ive just reduced the amount of lattes I buy out.

goodnightssleepbenice · 06/07/2025 13:05

Eating out , popping to Tescos which is a 10 second walk away , it’s way too close ! And going to B&M for one item and coming out with 10 😩

SillySeal · 06/07/2025 13:08

Food shop in general / take aways / eating out is the one that needs to be cut back the most.

The easiest one would be cutting days out

henlake7 · 06/07/2025 13:08

Clothes, its mainly Vinted and Primark level spending but it adds up.

I could also spend alot less on food but I dont want to!

Mañanarama · 06/07/2025 13:08

Food. Not at home - we eat well and waste nothing - but too many meals out, lunches, stop offs at cafes for cake and a cuppa. We poo it all out the next day so it’s literally money down the pan in many respects. Tastes nice though and is sociable.

Holidays. But life’s too short

Catsandcannedbeans · 06/07/2025 13:18

Stuff for the cat - she is spoiled.

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 06/07/2025 13:19

Eating out/ restaurants

I “could” eat at home but think I would be climbing the walls if I was at home all weekend ( and no I can’t go on walks due to a toddler with hypermobility that has just started walking at 3)

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 06/07/2025 13:19

Breaks, me and DH go away for long weekends every month. Also have main holiday with kids, no kids at school so none need us at home.

Rainbow321 · 06/07/2025 13:20

Cafe visits , we do it everyday . And books .

HellonHeels · 06/07/2025 13:21

gingercat02 · 06/07/2025 13:23

Motheranddaughter · 06/07/2025 13:24
