Blimey it’s a whole ‘other world’ isn’t it? I’m sure if you watch, or take part or work there it’s been in the calendar for ever, and you can’t fathom why people don’t know. But for me it’s a blip on FlightRadar24.

The first time I went to the F1 grand Prix I was astonished to see the number of helicopters flying in and out.

I used to live in Buckinghamshire and they were always buzzing over on F1 day. We knew when it was over as there were swarms of them! Jackie Stewart lived fairly close by and a few landed and took off from his house/pile.

It's like Glastonbury only a lot worse for helicopters, all the wealthy tooing and froing to the F1

Thanks for this OP, I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't posted and as someone more likely to be on Flightradar than watching a GP it's very interesting! I clicked on one that was going in a square pattern and it was the SKY tv copter, cool!

British Grand Prix - yesterday they looked like a swarm of wasps on flight radar!

When it was at Brands, I used to see them flying up the valley at Greenhithe, so I immediately thought of Silverstone, though not sure where it was. At least they're not on the roads, completely blocked the M25 so normal traffic couldn't make their journeys.

I only know because we live in Northants, probably about 15 miles away and if we go out to avoid the area that weekend, we did get caught by it once and got stuck in a massive jam

The red arrows will be flying over there later too.

Swansea air show starts at 12 with the Red Arrows and a Typhoon so look out for some interesting planes over the Bristol Channel too.
