Help please.. Will this sofa/colour of sofa go with this furniture?

Currently doing my living room up after having the same furniture for about ten years, I have a cat and it's had it's day now with all the marks in them from cat jumping up! I also need a new sofa, I have already ordered this furniture and have set my heart on this sofa but not sure if grey and the furniture would go together?

For some reason I can't picture them together!

My walls are white if it matters.

Thanks!

It’s not a good colour combo OP IMO

Light coloured wooden furniture and then what looks like a big hulking dark grey dead elephant is not going to look right.

Just add one or two accent colours with cushions in different sizes and textures. Maybe a colourful throw? John Lewis have got a sale atm.

I'm not sure that sofa would look good with any furniture. It is fairly ugly. Look for another sofa.

Lifestooshort71 · 06/07/2025 08:21

If you're set on that sofa (and it does look comfy) you could tie it in to the room by coordinating patterned rug, cushions and possibly a throw over the arm. Brighten the room up - possibly caramel and white with fuschia or teal or orange? Tbh, it will always look a bit random though.

The colours are ok, but the sofa is a completely different style of furniture from the other stuff and they won’t look right together. The sofa is too bulky

ObtuseMoose · 06/07/2025 08:43

A much paler grey would work, add colour with a throw and cushions. The style also needs to be more delicate, maybe with legs. The sofa you've set your heart on is really unattractive.

NoWomanNoBuy · 06/07/2025 08:44

No, it doesn't go. It's not just the colour, the style is also all wrong.

LizzieSiddal · 06/07/2025 08:45

No the grey sofa does not go with that lovely wooden furniture.

Apologies for being so brutal but I just don’t get the love for Grey. It’s the most depressing colour on the planet.

NoWomanNoBuy · 06/07/2025 08:46

That furniture is quite bulky IRL, so a bulky sofa is fine. But you need it to be a better style. Try looking at images of how the furniture has been styled by various retailers - you will get a better idea of what styles will match well.

Is there a colour option?

Ive had an emerald green sofa and I love it

imrubbishatthis · 06/07/2025 12:59

the sofa also comes in light grey, it did come in dark brown and that is the one i wanted but they sold out and after contacting them the grey is all they have left and they won't be getting the brown back in. Open to a different sofa but the only reason i wanted this one is because i have a bad back and I know someone that has one and it's firm which is what i need rather than comfy if that makes sense. it's the only sofa i have ever sat on that didn't hurt my back for some reason!

furniture is on its way so i'm going to have to look for a different sofa i think, thanks everyone.

If it's the only sofa you've found that comfortable then I would prioritise that over aesthetic considerations every single time!

You could always drape a blanket or throw over the sofa to pull another colour into the scheme.
