Anyone think this drawing is fab?

DD8 struggles at school but likes to draw and she did this really quickly.

I’m probably biased but it wouldn’t even occur to me to draw a rabbit in that way. I found it really quite eye catching.

Anyone think this drawing is fab?

Well I like it, I think it’s an interesting representation. If your dd struggles at school you should definitely encourage her passions and strengths - maybe an art class?

Flupflup · 05/07/2025 18:56

It’s absolutely brilliant, you can see where her talents are.

OriginalUsername2 · 05/07/2025 18:57

I see what you mean. The composition is good and the rabbit is pretty cool. I though the rabbit had a weapon at first lol.

2dogsandabudgie · 05/07/2025 18:58

Yes, I think it's a fab drawing. Very talented.

Candlemidnight · 05/07/2025 19:00

I like it.

proximalhumerous · 05/07/2025 19:02

I like it. Would look good framed.

Catsinaflat · 05/07/2025 19:08

I like it a lot. Would definitely frame it.

Shades of the black rabbit from Watership Down. I like it.

That’s exactly what I was going to say!

Thanks all, sadly DH was in charge of transporting it from the cafe and it has become rather creased in his back pocket ...

I could get the iron on it but given the wax crayon I’m not sure it would survive!

It’s great, it’s got real atmosphere and her use of line is very sparing. She’s clearly got talent.

Cucy · 05/07/2025 19:40

Yes so cute 🥰

Fleamaker · 05/07/2025 19:41

You can tell she has a 'natural' drawing ability with her own style, I especially like the droopy ears, and the use of perspective with the shorter leg. It's very interesting, especially with the little bird too. She's very talented!

Put a heavy book or two on it over night and see how it is tomorrow.

It is now resting between 2 encyclopaedias to flatten it out!

What's interesting to me is the lack of white space. Most children draw the ground and the sky as separate things ( sky at the top, ground at the bottom) with white space between. Your DD has filled that
space.

ladygindiva · 05/07/2025 21:50

I think it's a really imaginative well executed piece of art and way better than what my 8 year olds would come up with. Definitely talented.
