Weird crush on someone. Feeling sad. Tell me about your crushes?

They don't exist in 'real life'! He's a musician.. he performed at Glastonbury. I've liked his work since the very beginning but was never really a fan until recently.
After his Glastonbury set I kind of felt.. like a teenager. It didn't really occur to me that I have a crush 😅 but he's so sweet and lovely. I went through his whole instagram 🫣 eek.. it's been years since I had a crush, but I used to have them a lot. (I've always thought I'm ND but never been diagnosed)

I googled his wife briefly and I wasn't expecting it to be her... she was in an obscure indie band about 15 years ago, my ex fancied her and had her album.. 😢 he said she looked a bit like me. I guess I'll take that! I mean I don't still look like I did in 2010 and I doubt she does either. But when I discovered it was her I kind of sobbed for a while, pathetic in a way but it didn't release some emotion.

Has anyone had a weird crush? Feeling kind of sad and lonely. Must stop thinking and comparing myself to his wife! I suppose I can forgive myself, I am going through a stressful time and I had a horrible call with occupational health at work this week (more sobbing!) but still it's annoying..

Please don't laugh at me 😬

My weird crush over 10 years ago now was David Mitchell lol. He used to write a newspaper column and fronted a comedy show at the time and I used to religiously read his column and followed him on Twitter (previously never used lol) and overthought every tweet and became irrationally jealous whenever a woman was involved 😅. I did get carried away with my fantasy tbh but also like yourself OP was going through an extremely difficult time and I think I just overly latched onto him and yes I was very upset when he married Victoria Coren. But also weirdly pleased as she would be who I would have chosen if I had to as he definitely held a torch for her and so we parted on good terms haha.

Prior to and since then of course I’ve had crushes but nothing to that extent 😊

I like him too if it’s David Mitchell from peep show . He is so funny, and I think he’s handsome even if he’s not everyone’s usual type!

Ooh yes - Jarvis and Neil Hannon. I did have a weird crush on a musician in a very obscure indie band. In a spooky twist, my eldest ended up at uni in their city and had a houseshare with friends of theirs. Complete coincidence! One day my eldest said “mum I can arrange for you to meet (obscure indie band)” not knowing about the long-term crush and I was reduced to a giggling mess. I never could do it. Cross with myself because if it wasn’t for the crush I could’ve 🙄.

He's a Dj called Kieran Hebden (Four Tet). I'm actually laughing about this now, he is quite unusual looking, bless. He looked more handsome in his younger days.
His set was awesome but didn't think it would lead to me having a soft spot.

Im 59 in a fortnight and am currently obsessed with Reece Shearsmith. But I cant do any lustful thinking because firstly he had some actual stalker who I believe threatened his family or got wierd, which made him come off SM, but secondly he has a family he loves very much and Id feel bad about the reality of that. So I think Ive managed to square the fantasy that maybe we had something back in the day, before either of us knew our current partners, and now we are just good friends.....

I love Reece too, not in a creepy or stalker way though (poor bloke!).

I know what you mean OP. A photo might not capture it, but seeing someone moving or doing what they do well, you just get it. Jeff Goldblum is like that I think.

Absolutely! I’m a fan of an actor and thought he was also very handsome on interviews and stuff I’d seen but didn’t give it much thought. Then by completely and utterly chance I was visiting a friend in London and I met him at a bar and he was so amazingly nice and friendly I developed a huge unhealthy crush afterwards and watched all his work and stalked online haha I blame the mid 30s crisis!

Did you know the gorgeous Sean Bean met his (5th 😅) wife like that? He was drinking in a central London bar and his future GF walked in with a friend and that was that! She was of course a lot younger by about 20 years, so not sure if she knew who he was at the time but I do love it when a ‘normal’ and major celeb find each other doing regular things!

I absolutely love Four Tet and ive been listening to him for years and he does come across as a thoroughly nice bloke!!!!
I can totally get it you know. Hes an amazing dj.

I’ve got a slight crush on Yungblud which as I’m 57 is quite pervy. I think it’s more that I know if I was 18 now I would massively fancy him. I e also got a crush on a hot farrier who I follow on Instagram. I know it’s just a crush though, I don’t feel sad - I think I only would if it was someone I knew personally IRL.

God thats an eye opener and so true. I had a mad crush on someone at work for about a year and it drove me mad. I did nothing about it and would die if i thought the subject knew. I told no one but but the silent obsession drove me crazy as it was dominating my thoughts and so bloody distracting. I was also v hormonal and recognise now i had emotional needs that werent being met. Crushes can be an utter nightmare.

OP I do this. I’m neurodivergent. I will crush on someone. Hyperfocus and find everything I can, interviews, videos.. most recent one is Little Alex Horne 😆
