House move checklist

My head is swimming with everything I need to do for my impending house move.

I've made a huge list of everyone I need to inform but have probably forgotten some. Also I’m unsure as to who I need to tell before the move and who should wait until after?

Would really appreciate advice, can’t think straight!

I have a list for what I needed to change after moving house, you may need to add some of your own but hopefully it's a starting point:

TV/internet
Council tax

Pension providers

HMRC (+ child benefit)
Car insurance

Logbook

Bank - (all current and savings accounts)

One that isn't relevant for me at the minute but that I'd forgotten is any children's clubs (swimming, brownies etc).

Also the health visitor service if the area you've moved to if you have a child under school age (for when they do the pre school checks etc).

They just keep coming I'm sorry.. if you get your shopping delivered get the delivery address updated, last thing you want to do is order a shop and realise it's going to your old address.

Thank you for suggestions. DC are young adults so no childcare changes needed. Has reminded me though I need to get DD to change her car info

Remember to take meter readings just before you go and when you get to the new place.

Whenever we have moved I have had post redirection for all of us for 12 months (think most people do 3). This should then catch any you have forgotten- including christmas / birthday cards etc.

And the previous owner of our house must have forgotten they moved when a delivery man turned up trying to deliver a bay tree or similar! So double check address when ordering anything!
