The first one I clearly remember was the King’s Cross fire in 87 and Lockerbie in 88

Mountbatten’s assassination in 1979. And the invasion of the Falkland Islands & subsequent war in 1982.

also the hurricane in 87. We lived in Sussex at the time so experienced it first hand. Our village was devastated and cut off and we had no water or electricity for days

Oh I remember the 1987 storm very clearly too. I remember going into my mum and dad's room, and hearing the bins rolling around outside.

I remember the main character from allo allo had a tree come down on his car, and in the next series he had a line on his head.
