How much did your driveway cost?

I'm in the South West. Need a single car driveway. What is the cheapest to use? Gravel? The front garden is on a slight slope and a lot of soil would need removing and probably a retaining wall put in.

It's unlikely I'll be able to afford it but I can dream! Would be nice to be able to park outside my own house rather than 2 streets away. 😖

Our drive is long enough for 3 cars. Block paving was £7,500. I didn’t want gravel, as on occasion we need to use a wheelchair for DD, and it’s supposed to be hard to push on gravel.

Ours was 27K to take away a lot of soil, build a large retaining wall and clad in slate, driveway done in driveway block paving and a stainless steel and glass balustrade added. It’s a double driveway though.

@Crazymadchickenlady Oh wow. That's definitely out of my price range. The maximum I could afford would be £4000. Seems unlikely I'd be able to get it done within my budget.

We are Scotland, Ours was £4k, removal of garden and double driveway put in, gravel and four lanes of paving slabs. No wall or fences though it’s quite basic.

I forgot they also built steps up to the front door too. It was a big job but was worth it to us as we live on a single track lane with no parking. I think it would be hard to get it for £4000 but maybe try getting a couple of quotes in and see what they say.
