Hello does anyone know if this is possible please, or perhaps a typist to just type it all out again?
Or scan pages into Word?

It depends on the settings. You might need to save the document in a different format.

often you can just copy the text and paste it.

GuevarasBeret · 03/07/2025 09:16

What have you tried to far?

BasicBrumble · 03/07/2025 09:16

Google convert pdf text to Word, there will be ways to export it, you simply may need to edit it after

CreteBound · 03/07/2025 09:17

Upload it to ChatGPT and ask it to make you a word copy

WasherWoman25 · 03/07/2025 09:18

Yes but usually via paid software. I have it at work, but there is sometimes free versions online. Have you googled ‘pdf to word free’.

bluechameleon · 03/07/2025 09:19

Save the pdf on Google drive then click on the 3 dots and choose open with Google docs. You can then edit it there or download it as a word doc. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes the formatting completely meeses up, but you usually end up with something usable in my experience.

IWannaBeInTheRoomWhereItHappens · 03/07/2025 09:20

You can convert it in Adobe reader, it gives you one free conversion a month. Or there are various pdf to doc converters that do it for free. Formatting may be messed up if there is complex content eg tables, images etc.

chocolateisavegetable · 03/07/2025 09:21

If I go into Word and from there I open a PDF document, it will convert it into Word. I don’t know if that’s just a setting my IT department have though.

Ddakji · 03/07/2025 09:23

I have Acrobat Pro, so this may only work on the paid-for version, but you can convert a PDF into Word in Acrobat.

OfTheNight · 03/07/2025 09:48

We use ‘I love PDF’ it’s a really straightforward converter with loads of options and it’s free. Just google it.

Denimrules · 03/07/2025 09:52

Agree this can be a pain but is quite easy in reverse

YetAnotherNewNameAgain · 03/07/2025 09:54

Long winded , but works:

Print the document
Take a photo of the document
Upload the photo to google drive
In the drive, right click on the photo and select 'open with google docs'

You'll end up with the photo and editable text underneath.

CC222 · 03/07/2025 11:36

Use ilovepdf.com it’s free to use

fthisfthatfeverything · 03/07/2025 11:37

Copy and paste

rbe78 · 03/07/2025 11:38

As a couple of PPs have said, ilovepdf.com is the best free tool if your version of Adobe doesn't do this.

Rosepalmaviolets · 08/07/2025 17:41

Also, this might be useful for someone. A couple of days ago, I was recommended the channel https://www.youtube.com/@PDFGuru
about an online tool for working with PDFs. By the way, it also has a video on how to convert PDF to Word. I personally really liked this tool, especially its ease of use.

Not this, recently tried it and it will look ok at a glance but make all sorts of weird changes

itbemay1 · 28/11/2025 08:30

Save pdf on desktop. Open a blank word doc then file, open locate pdf it will ask you if you want to convert pdf to word. Does it for you

yeah that woudl work for me, I thought it was default functionality.

The formatting usually goes wonky, though.

HushTheNoise · 28/11/2025 08:43

I'm pretty sure canva can do it. Or use a free site to convert. Don't use with confidential information though.

Livpool · 28/11/2025 11:21

smooshraspberry · 28/11/2025 11:37
