Would you go out?

Desperately been waiting for some items to be collected. Chap has texted saying he'll come at lunchtime, which means from noon, so I thought I'd go out. DH doesn't think I should go out in case he comes early. DH plans to be back by 11am and I'll home 10.45-11.10am.

No, I wouldn't.

isitmeamithedrama · 03/07/2025 08:12

I would. I had someone say they’d be there at dinner time, they arrived at 9pm!

DoristheBoris · 03/07/2025 08:12

Surely you just say ‘oh perfect, someone will be home after 11 anyway’

CherryYellowCouch · 03/07/2025 08:12

It depends how “desperate” you are.

If it’s a really serious, can’t be missed collection, then I wouldn’t chance it.

TheChosenTwo · 03/07/2025 08:13

Surely you just text back and say “great, we will be home from 11am”.

Bjorkdidit · 03/07/2025 08:15

So the window when neither of you could be not at home is 10.45 to 11 am. As that is not lunchtime, I don't see the issue in you going out.

Ageismlives · 03/07/2025 08:21

If it's really important to you to get this stuff collected I personally wouldn't go out.

My past experience is that people are notoriously casual about sticking to arranged times. When some one says they will come at a certain time on a certain day I take it to actually mean itcould anytime on that day. Or not even turning up at all in some instances.

Sunnyside4 · 03/07/2025 08:23

Dh has already gone out and he has the chap's mobile number, which I'm sure is a works number and not easy to reach him as he will already be on the road for the day.

If DH was so concerned about you missing the collection, perhaps he could have not gone out?
