Help needed for this for UC?

I am really stressed about this.

So, I accidentally reported the wrong dates for my fit note online on the UC website and did not notice until two days later - today. They have not verified the information yet and the fit note is inaccurate only in the sense that I put the end data two weeks earlier than my GP note says by accident.

Obviously, I want to put the right note in place but now I am worried they will think I was lying or that it will complicate matters. What should I do?

Should I just keep the dates as they are since I have actually accidentally underreported my fit note time rather than overreported so even if I was doing it on purpose, it's not like they will be negatively impacted?

Is it worth just leaving it or will they likely find out some way that the precise dates are wrong and then I will get in trouble?

You should be able to go onto your journal and leave a message for your UC advisor. Explain the mistake and you should be able to upload supporting documentation - in this case a copy of the fit note from the GP showing the correct dates.
Shouldnt be a problem. I did it once with the dates for my childcare costs when I was on UC. I just explained the mistake and uploaded a copy of a receipt from my childcare provider.

What was their response?

Just for anyone who can give help, UC has now actually accepted the fit note. I just checked. So, is it worth going through the hassle of telling them the dates are two weeks early, then them maybe thinking I was lying in the first place even though I literally have a doctors' fit note for proof so I definitely did not lie on purpose?

Just put a note in your journal. Say you made a mistake, they can find the correct dates on the form. Much better to be honest.

Just go to report a fit note and add the correct dates then put a note in your journal explaining. If they want to see it they'll ask but they probably won't.

Why would they probably not? Is it because they dont have the time to bother?

Because they're supposed to take you at your word unless there's evidence to the contrary. They are also often quite pressed for time!
