I need a film to occupy a group of children aged 2-12 tomorrow. The 2 year old will likely wander off which is fine, but the film still needs to be suitable for him.

What are the hits with your children?

80s family films like Beethoven or Honey I shrunk the Kids might be good. The older kids might find them “old” though. Or Shrek, Antz, Bug Life, Toy Story. No idea what is modern it seems.

Definitely Toy Story. It’s modern enough to entertain the older ones but completely suitable for a two year old.

The 12 year olds I know wouldn't be seen dead watching Toy Story or anything Disney/Pixar. Wallace and Gromit maybe? The 80s films are a good shout. Would you deem Grease okay for a 2 year old? I'd be okay with it on the grounds it'll all go over their head!

I'd go studio ghibli and put on My Neighbour Totoro or Arrietty or Kiki's Delivery Service. Safe for the little ones but much cooler than Disney.

I’d agree that they’re completely different audiences, so one end of the age group is going to get bored quite quickly.

Goonies? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Lego Movie?
