Sausage sandwich

TheChosenTwo · 02/07/2025 10:10

I’d maybe get some nice bread, cheese, sliced meats, get some bakery sausage rolls and other savouries and then some pastries and fruit for afters. Quite shocked that one group of 8 people and they don’t eat soup, VEGETABLES?!, salad, fish or eggs! What a limiting diet.
Also I probably wouldn’t choose to eat fish at lunch but I’d eat it if someone made it for me!!

Eight of them, quite a number to cater for. If it were me and my family, I would bring food myself, not necessarily for us. So maybe don't get too much? I always do if staying at friends/relatives homes. I'm not the only one who does this, so maybe they'll bring some food that they like?

Cheese and tomato toasties, covered in foil and cooked in the oven. Or BLTs

I’d roast a couple of chickens, serve 1.5 of them cold, sliced, with a baguette, pickles, ketchup, crisps, wedges etc. I’d also do some vegetables that could end up in a stir fry if not eaten. I couldn’t NOT put vegetables on the table.

Do all of them not eat any of those things? When we have a mix of adults and kids at lunchtime, we normally do as PP suggests and have some cheeses and cold meats, maybe some hummus or other dips, grapes, melon, raw vegetables, salad, quiche etc. and let people help themselves. Then the veg dodgers can have bread, cheese and fruit. Obviously it's harder if they all have loads of the same restrictions.

Just do self assemble rolls, and some fruit.
Selection of fresh rolls, add some chicken/ ham/ cheese/ salad items/ condiments and let them put in what they like.

Watermelon chopped up. Many some brownies/ mini muffins

Eight people don't eat any salad or vegetables? How?

If they don't want a full meal I'd do a big cheeseboard thing with really good bread, nuts, figs, chutneys, grapes, etc some whipped feta and tahini dips

and then watch and wonder how they're all upright with such a restrictive diet!

Slices of pizza

Croque Monsieur

Ham or bacon sandwiches

They don't eat vegetables? In similar situations we've done cheese, meats, bread and crackers, plus party food type nibbles - crisps, dips, chicken satay, sausage rolls, etc. Everyone can pick and take as much or as little as they want. I would also do veggies, olives, etc but they sound like fussy eaters.

DiscoPig · 02/07/2025 10:36

So all any of them eat is meat and fruit?

Purplepinkfairy · 02/07/2025 11:24

They all eat meat. 1 doesn't eat fruit. Thanks for suggestions. Think I will get nice bead and a few meats and let them help themselves
