Maiden name

I've been happily married for many years. I changed my name on marriage, but regretted it and feel no connection to it (apart from my husband!) I never changed my email address!

Has anyone changed their name back, how did it go? I know logistically it might be a bit tricky but how did friends and family react? We have no children so don't need to worry about any confusion there.

Don’t worry about people’s reaction, it’s none of their business. Do what makes you feel comfortable.

I’m with you. Not going to change back but really wish I hadn’t changed my name.

There was another post about this just a few days ago.

(Can we please stop calling it a “maiden name” - it’s very regressive/sexist.)

Yes, it’s your birth surname. Just like men’s surnames are their birth surnames, not their ‘unmarried boy names’. Not some kind of ‘starter name’ that you get rid of.
