For the last couple of months I’ve been itchy on my labia majora. Mostly at night, but it’s making my skin red down there. I went to the GP a couple of months ago who prescribed trimovate, it calmed it right down but then it came back in different patches. Heat makes it worse so the hot spells recently haven’t helped. And when I make it itchy obviously it makes it worse. A friend suggested litchen simplex - basically stuck it an itch cycle, but how do I break the cycle if it is that?! I’m 41 so wondering if it’s partly peri menopausal.

? lichen sclerosis.
in early 40s you are quite young,
look it up on dermnet - it’s a good resource skin issues
If it’s red could also be thrush.
if dimple things - avoiding soap , cotton undies don’t help then go to GP

I’m not sure it is thrush because it’s my outer labia that’s itchy at night not inside if that makes sense. Sorry for the details. In the day and when it’s not hot it doesn’t bother me, it seems to be at night I can’t help but itch it which makes the skin worse.
