Has it changed or is it because I'm new?

The only experience I have ever had of instagram is an account I had about 4 years ago, They then decided to ban my account after a year of having it because according to them I was impersonating a celebrity! I still don't understand that because all the pics I posted were either of me or taken by me (or my cats lol) and I was using my real name and date of birth etc. I never once claimed to be anyone else.

Just joined again now and every single account I am trying to follow is saying 'requested' even celeb accounts, I'm sure when I was last on this only applied to private accounts or am I wrong? has it changed since I was last on or is it because my account is new?

I don't really think Jimmy Carr for example has a private account..

A lot of people have restrictions and private accounts these days. I have a private account and even then the stories I post online certain people can see them.

I am not sure why yours is saying requested unless you’ve tried to follow a lot of people at once, usually Instagram puts a block on you following for 24 hrs just to make sure you’re a real person.
