Quick question for seasoned campers

In this weather, what would you wear when sleeping in a tent at night? Would you be more worried about being too hot or too cold? I'm camping out for Wimbledon tickets tomorrow night and not sure what to expect in terms of overnight temperatures - in the past I've generally found it cold overnight and had to put extra clothes on, but that's when it's been more normal daytime temps. Any advice?

Too hot.

I would wear leggings and a t-shirt if sleeping in a tent with decent sleeping bag. And take a jumper just in case. It will get cool in the evening but less so while you are sleeping assuming you are in a sleeping bag in a tent.

Plan is to use the sleeping bag as a duvet on an air mattress covered with a sheet (too fat to get in a sleeping bag properly!). Does that make a difference?

Whaaaat ? It’s about 25c still in the south east at this hour! Def don’t wear that much. I’d be more worried about getting bitten as you’ll need to leave your tent open until quite late to get some cooler air in. Bring good mozzie spray.

Having camped overnight in the Wimbledon queue in a heatwave in the past, I'd say you're likely to be far too hot. I ended up lying on top of my sleeping bag, and wearing pretty much nothing.

I've done the queue many times and even in more normal temperatures I don't recall ever being too cold. I'm usually in knickers and t-shirt in a sleeping bag on a self inflating cramping mat. Occasionally I've worn leggings. It's in a park in London so tends to be warmer than if you were in a campsite in the countryside.

Lie on your sleeping bag but good to have a Colton sheet in contact with your skin. I’d sleep in something very light. If you get cold you can always get under the sheet and sleeping bag but I doubt temps will drop below 20 this week in the south east at night.

Last week I was camping and sleeping in a sheet sleeping bag under a single wool blanket equivalent (actually a big black cloak to keep the light out) wearing thin cotton pyjamas.

Awesome, thanks all!
