What are you wearing?

I have no idea what to wear 🤷‍♀️. Think it's likely to be cooler in Glasgow than when we leave home for the day (Yorkshire - 6am train 🙈).

Shit! I can picture all the pissed up lobsters now. It'll be carnage!

GrandTheftWalrus · 10/07/2025 20:06

My other half is working at it on Saturday and Sunday. Ill report back.

lucysmam · 10/07/2025 21:30

Yes, I've seen the forecast - not what I was expecting. We'll be making use of the water refill stations. I've allowed for a couple of drinks each - not loads. Certainly not enough to be pissed.

Plenty of water stations and if you need more sun screen if you have run out or forgotten it just go to a welfare tent and they'll have some there.

Ocht it will be fine, young people nowadays are much more aware of staying hydrated, wearing suncream and pacing their drinks (what I've seen with my children and younger family members, they are all quite sensible) Much more sensible than me and my friends were in the 90s anyway!

From working it since 2018 I can confidently say -- no they won't. Always people too drunk to move, heat stroke etc. When you work in the industry you know what events will be worse for people drinking etc. Just because your children and younger family members are sensible that doesn't speak for all the young people.

@Stychie how did you get on?

We were barricade in one of the front pits. Chugging water like it was going out of fashion & smothered in sun cream!

Really impressed with the stewards in front of the stage - best organisation I think I've seen in a while. Plenty of water being passed round, offers of suncream, really quick spotting issues in the crowd ⭐️.

Hopefully anyone who went had a fab day!

We had a great time, Fontaines DC were fantastic! Plenty of water and suncream. I didn't see any bother at all, just people enjoying themselves.

Biffy clyro set was disturbed a bit though by the music from underworld blasting from King tuts stage

Pussert · 13/07/2025 17:06

I was also a bit worried that Simon Neil was never going to take his top off 🤣

lucysmam · 13/07/2025 17:11

🤣 tbf I think that's a very valid concern given how hot it is!

I really enjoyed Fontaines - surprisingly so actually!

They're discussing the noise from King Tut's stage on the Biffy fans' Facebook page. It's poor to have overlap really; the stages / timings should be set up to avoid this.

And Simon always takes his top off eventually! 🥵 (It's Jim I wait for though! 🤣)

We got in no bother. Had a great day. i thought it was well organised and felt safe. Daughter was a bit disappointed that Wunderhorse had pulled out but we knew in advance and Miles Kane did a good set. Thought Inhaler were great. under-whelmed by the Kooks. DD is a big Fontaines fan and she loved them. i know i may be in a minority here - but too political for me. After Glastonbury, thought the lack of flags was refreshing - until it got to the Fontaines 🫣. Still great day. Hope everyone else had a good time

lucysmam · 15/07/2025 13:46

Ah, Fontaines are quite political. I didn't think Grian was going to rise to the chants at first. I'm sure he's had a telling off for it before so should probably not rise to it.
