The spas and cakes are great.

AnnaMagnani · 29/06/2025 11:20

It'll be boiling hot.

We went a few years ago in the summer holidays it was wonderful. Fascinating history, great food and beer, lovely people. I’d love to go back.

Hot

Beautiful city. One of my favourites although I am biased as lived there for quite a few years. It can get very hot obviously. Lots to do though. And ways to cool down. Public outdoor swimming pools on Margit Island. Boat trips on the Danube. The Gellert spa.

Some lovely restaurants. The Four Seasons Gresham Hotel is beautiful even if just for a drink.

It's one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to. I stayed on Margaret Island so both sides were easily accessible. The public transport is frequent and clean. Download the Budapest Go app for your travel planning.

If you are doing the Thermal baths the Bud side ones like Gellert and Veli Bej are less crowded than Schezenyi, but it is an experience to visit it. You can download the Budapest Spas app to reserve tickets and book treatments in advance.

Don't miss the Central Market Hall, the food stalls on the upper floor are amazing. Menza is a great restaurant for local dishes, reservations recommended. Eating at Cafe Gundeli, next to the Zoo is also a nice experience.

I love Budapest! There’s so much to see and the food is amazing. It should be hot in the summer though.

It's not an issue as there is English everywhere.

Plus Google Translate is fab, just take a photo and it translates everything.

It's stunning. Somewhere I would happily re visit over and over. Margaret Island is great for a day in the sun in the outdoor pools and the outdoor cafes and bars. I'd hit the tourist sites early morning to avoid the heat then chill out at an outdoor pool in the afternoon.

I took my DP for his birthday last July and it was super hot at 36 degrees! Highlights were the szechenyi baths (we bought VIP tickets which got some nice extras, definitely worth it), boat trip along the Danube and an amazing little Italian restaurant called Trattoria Cardinale. I’d recommend trying a chimney cake too! Download the Bolt app for the taxis which are everywhere and really cheap so you’ll have no problem getting around. We only went for 3 nights and would absolutely go back as there was so much we didn’t get to see/do

Taxis? It has an amazing public transport system with a great app for it. Just go everywhere on the tram.
