Flies!

What are these weird flies that I've only noticed this year? Only a few, but I can't work out where they're coming from.

They're smaller than normal house flies, not bluebottles, and bigger than fruit flies. They remind me of the ones that seemed to reside in the bathroom when I was in West Africa, but I've checked my bathroom and don't see an obvious source.

Any idea where they're coming from?

Could they be cluster flies? They like to hibernate in small spaces and then come out in warmer weather. The like light coloured south facing walls as well. They keep coming back as well....massive pain to get rid of.

Yes, I think they might be - thanks. Although weirdly (and thankfully) there isn't a cluster of them, just a couple at a time. Perhaps they're the unsociable variety.

Also, remind me never to Google images of flies again... 🤢
