Jeff Bezos's wedding. How can celebs wear these outfits when it's roasting?

Not usually one to care about Jeff Bezos but I was looking at news about the heatwave in Europe. I'm in the south of France atm and it is stifling and sweltering. How do celebs manage to wear such clinging outfits without melting? The bride's dress - how?

Fashion wise, I've never seen so many fake boobs on display!

I don’t care how pretty the outfits were, what a grotesque spectacle of wealth and lack of care for the planet and the beautiful city of Venice which is already ruined by mass tourism. Obscene.

Totally agree with you. I hate that Venice is used as the playground of international very wealthy people. Your use of the word grotesque sums it up very well.

lots of them are american, so the temperatures will feel pretty similar to them compared to our norm.

e.g. bbc weather has the temp between 29-31 in Venice over the next few days, whereas it's 26-30 in LA, and up to 33 in New York - it will feel a lot fresher with the breeze and water in Venice compared to NY as well.

Oh, you're right. Still hot but I was thinking it was in the high 30s/almost 40 zone.

The powers that be are quite happy to do it though in exchange for donations & the associated spending.

I hope they were indoors if they were on that bloody island! We were there a couple of years ago and were absolutely eaten alive by mosquitoes. Not in Venice, or Murano or Burano, just that godforsaken mosquito- ridden hellhole!

They have outdoor air con blasting away.

They don't care one iota about the planet.

I wonder if Leo looks back at his Oscar acceptance speech, which he used to hypocritically waffle on about climate change and cringes... If he doesn't then he really should.

Yes, he seems to have forgotten about that. He also appeared to be wearing a cardigan, but that might just be my eyes and actually it was a bespoke suit with baggy fluffy arms.

Curious about the amount of celebs.
How do they move in the same circles for enough time to be invited? He's a tech businessman - spent his career around tech people and business.

Why is he best friends with A listers? Surely they have nothing to say to each other that the other is even remotely interested in. And Lauren is a journalist. I thought celebs kept away from journalists:)

Because they do the same holiday circuits and attend the same functions & some may even be neighbours. Celebs are often guests of billionaire on yachts or hire their yachts and then they go to each other's parties.

bingodingoringo · 29/06/2025 08:53

Rich people often finance projects for actors etc.

Pedallleur · 29/06/2025 09:21

It's a small world they live in. Prob always publicity hungry and billionaires like famous people and vice versa. Randolph Hearst used to invite showbiz and politicians to his home in California and of course Epstein liked to invite people to his island. Beautiful people, money, influence etc. So the press love it and the guests get some coverage but not too much. Cosmetic surgeons prob hand cards out to their clients to refer the clients friends

Darling, if you've got it flaunt it! As Zsa Zsa used to say. These people don't shy away from the camera

Why is Leonardo Di Caprio going to the wedding of Jeff Bezos? Is he paying these people?

Might be v.young attractive models there or Leo has a new one he needs to show off

PlumpAndCircumstance · 29/06/2025 10:15

I often wonder at these celeb weddings if they actually know one another? Or do they invite high profile celebs for the pap?

Yes. And how superficial so much of the conversation must be.

I remember last summer the Ambani wedding in India (a huge spectacle) but they quite clearly paid for Kim and khloe Kardashian to come out, I saw clips of them being filmed at the wedding and the Kardashians clearly had no idea who they were apart from a mega rich family, there's clips of the grooms mother hugging Kim like they were dear old friends.
So I also wonder if it's a status thing to have certain celebs there, both for the celebs themselves and the wedding party.
Even at Harry and Meghan wedding, Meghan all of a sudden had all these high profile US friends such as Oprah and George Clooney.

Pedallleur · 29/06/2025 21:55

Celebs for hire!! Suppose it's no different to hiring Elton or Gaga but clearly must have too much money. The Kardashians can't be that well off if they are for hire. Think I'd pay them (and others) to stay at home

Menopants · 29/06/2025 21:58

What a shower of cunts

mathanxiety · 29/06/2025 22:17

I live in a place where summers are very hot and humid. I imagine most of the guests spend a good deal of time in places where it's hot for months at a stretch and have got used to it.
