Do you have any gifts from mile stone birthdays that you have kept? I'm looking for ideas for 18th and 21st birthdays.

I got for my 18th a leather jacket that I had wanted for ages. This was a good 20 odd years ago mind u but I loved it and wore it all the time for many years

is the recipient male or female? And are u the parent or extended family or friend? Jewellery is always a good one I think. Or a once in a lifetime experience like bungee jumping etc or maybe even a new car.

I got the standard cup, keyring and key thing which I still have but have never been used and are collecting dust in my grandparents loft. When the time comes for their house to be cleared they will likely end up on vinted or in a charity shop.

I would imagine photo frames, jewellery or similar might be useful and more likely to be kept long term.

Family members, happy to spend 40 or 50 on each

U could just put £50 in a card each if it’s like a niece or nephew, that’s what I got from aunts and uncles. Jewellery etc from parents

I have a beautiful silver bracelet my work colleagues gave me for my 18th. More than 25 years ago. My family gave me tat stuff from card shops. Give them cash and a personalised card, let them choose to save it for something like driving lessons or a larger piece of jewellery or frankly let them have a bloody good night out and make a memory

My mother still wears the watch she was given for her 21st birthday every day. She's 95!

I got a sewing machine at aged 16. I’m now 42 and use it on and off still ☺️
