Hi ladies, I have a question. I was offered a property by a housing association a few months ago but I haven’t viewed it yet. The HA staff said theres still works going on there. I just wondered do they generally come floored? Whats the situation with walls etc? Ive seen people get their council properties literally stripped and people need to do their flooring, walls etc.
this really worries me As I have absolutely no clue in building stuff/ flooring, walls etc. Im also concerned in terms of costs etc as its just me moving.
i’m obviously aware that every situation is different etc but what was your experience?
p.s I did ask the HA staff if it will be with floors/walls done but she didn’t know and asked to wait till the viewing is done.

Mine came with no flooring and needed painting. I did the painting room by room and got some rugs from freecycle until I saved up enough to carpet : laminate

Agree with Kurt cobain! They might have some wood chip painted magnolia on the walls but apart from kitchen and bathroom vinyl floor, the rest you will have to do. Be careful with laminate floor though as they may not allow it because of the noise to neighbours when you're walking about. I did put a laminate floor but had to tip toe around especially in the late evening or night. I was in a flat in a house conversion. The noise really travels in those old houses. I was sandwiched between ground and top floor! Good luck in your new home x
