Haven or butlins

We have been on a few haven holidays now in Yorkshire but looking at something different for October half term. Is butlins worth paying £400 more than haven for?

please no “both are crap”. I know they’re not luxury but the kids enjoy it.

We’ve done both and loved them both. Haven we’ve done a fair few different sites in different locations and loved them all whereas Butlins we’ve only done a long weekend.

DS was 9 or 10 when we did butlins and it does feel a bit more full on. There’s a brilliant playground, funfair, swimming etc and really good entertainment all of which is included as well as a big centre that houses take away options, shops, amusements etc so we just paid for one laser quest activity whereas haven we pay for more activities as the swimming pool was much smaller with less slides and there’s no entertainment or anything like that.

I think Butlins we knew we’d do everything on site so we prepared for that, stayed in one of the apartments and had a good package that included buffet breakfast and tea as it was only Friday to Monday whereas haven we always go for 5 or 7 days so stay in a caravan and do a mix of eating in there, on site and off site and do a lot more touristy stuff offsite as well.

So, while we love both I don’t know if I’d want a whole week at Butlins as it might just feel too busy, full on and peopley unless you went off site as well.

Oh that’s interesting as we often say we couldn’t / wouldn’t do haven for more than a weekend as we feel we run out of options so the chaos of butlins sounds good for us. Kids will be 9 and 5 when we go and we like to have a lot of choice for activities. That’s super helpful!!! Thank you @Peabody25
