Ring doorbell increase to £80 per year

We have a doorbell and a camera on the backdoor, both Ring. Both work great but the price hikes are getting wilder year on year, they now want £79.99 for this year.

Should I stick with it or just buy another brand? I've read on here about Eufys?

Thanks for any advice.

I had no idea that people paid monthly for door bells! I thought it was a one off thing??

It is a one off yearly payment

We got rid of our ring doorbell last year for exactly this reason. Now use a Eufy and it’s actually better. My DD also has the CCTV cameras out the back of their house. No subs on Eufy stuff. Ring will price themselves out of the market- very foolish…

Thanks- is it like the ring peephole camera ( battery) or is it wired in?
I’m seriously considering this as I think ring have a cheek with this latest huge increase!

I’ve got blink, added an SD card so don’t pay a subscription. It occasionally plays up heaps but been ok for a good while now. Haven’t managed to get a chime (ding Dong noise unit) for it so use an Alexa but would prefer a chime unit as Alexa in the kitchen and I don’t always hear it.

Mine’s renewing in a month for £50. Is the £80 for some sort of upgraded package?

I have a camera too, the £80 is for both of them.

I'm just going to pay it for another year and then think again next year when it comes time to renew. As seems silly to spend over £200 on a new doorbell and camera when the ones we have work fine. Annoying as anything though, it used to be £1.99 a month when we first got it!
