Terrified to fly but Eurostar in shambles, WWYD.

I’ve seen this morning the huge disruption on the Eurostar and it’s expected to last a few days. I’m terrified of flying but have an important event I need to be at on Monday morning that I can’t miss. I am traveling from Birmingham to London to get the Eurostar on Sunday instead of flying.
DH said it’s better to cancel and fly but I really don’t know. WWYD? It’s expected to be 35 degrees on Sunday and being stranded in London in that and having to go to a larger, more intimidating airport in the event my train isn’t running sounds awful too. Argh!

Apparently repairs will be finished today. People who have had cancelled trains are likely to be disrupted and struggle to get trains but if you have a ticket booked already you will be fine

I'd fly. If you have to be there you can't rely on the train.

Trains seem to be getting to Paris about 70-90 minutes late according to the latest information. Haven't looked for other destinations.

Talk to the event organisers so that if you by chance cannot make it, or are late, they will be understanding.

Check Eurostar and your emails frequently on Saturday or Sunday, so if your train is cancelled, you can quickly book on another.

I can’t seen any reason why this is going to impact your journey on Sunday? Where are you reading otherwise?

The Eurostar will surely be sorted by Monday. Even today things are running just with lengthy delays. I wouldn’t even think about it until Sunday. If things are still looking bad then, which is highly unlikely, then you deal with it then. No point panicking now.
