A reminder came up that I'd sent a year ago to myself, reminding me to renew my house insurance. The first ad tjat came up on here was for house insurance. I understand targeted ads, but at least let me put into a chuffing search engine first.

I tested this once. Talked about something with my husband that id never searched for, deliberately. Within minutes I was getting related adverts. Even though I have always denied permissions on all apps to track in any way, access anything, told Google they cant have my location etc.

Scratching my head trying to work out what sealion is a correction for! Or is it some regional expression that means barking?

I was sat in a cafe with a friend once and she showed me this obscure film she wanted to watch, she googled it and showed me a clip. It may have been on Instagram, I can't remember tbh but later that day I had an Instagram advert for it. I had her on Instagram as a friend but the phones must have known that we were with each other to have advertised it to me too!

That's not how I have seen it so I wonder if that page has been "tampered" with. Sealioning is about asking things to distract you away from something, it's not when asking for clarification or evidence. Your DD was deliberately shutting down that conversation so you need to look closer as to why 😉
