ID for solicitor nightmare

Conveyancing solicitor wants photo ID. Showed PASS ID... not good enough apparently. So have applied to replace tatty (unreadable) driving licence with photo ID licence. Did it online. It said application complete but a form will be sent to me to complete and send back with photo. Will photos need to be signed by someone else? I have no passport..

I've googled around but am as stumped by this as you are.

Somewhere along the lines it mentions cross referencing your old driving licence with a valid passport. Which you do not have.

Have you ever had a passport?
Were you born in the UK?

I can't see any mention of countersigning.

Maybe Citizen's Advice could help?

I'm not very good but I'm trying...

Hopefully somebody else with better ideas will come along now we've got the thread rolling.

Didn’t need photos signed for driving licence

I didn't have any photo ID and they refused to accept my original paper driving licence 🙄

I had to go into their offices with birth certificate, marriage certificate, council tax bill, two other utility bills in my name, and bank statements. It was a right pain tbh.

Edit ^ that was for the conveyancing solicitor.
