UTI complete lack of bladder control

Is this anything to worry about?
I've had UTI's before but the main symptoms were frequent desire to urinate accompanied by burning and pain.
I've not experienced this complete sudden flooding before.
I should get shares in Tena.!

I’ve had a few UTIs, two of which resulted in loss of control - nothing sinister and antibiotics sorted them out but I couldn’t really leave the house much until they did. Sympathies!

Two UTI in six months. Bladder pretty well shot at the moment. Awful flooding then struggling to completely empty bladder. It's depressing.

Does it definitely feel like your usual UTI but with the loss of control or do you have any accompanying back pain or any pain running down your legs? Have you hurt your back at all? I have sciatica and compression in my lower back. I’ve been told that if I lose control of my bladder to go straight to A&E.

GP knows just prescribed more pills. I'm seeing the consultant next week.

I used to get bladder and kidney infections all the time. Then I read a small article about a trial which showed that cranberry extract (but not cranberry juice) could prevent UTIs. I started taking cranberry extract and haven't had a UTI since then - which is at least 20 years. I take the extract morning and night, and I take at least double the dose it says on the bottle and never miss a dose. Cranberry extract can prevent UTIs but it doesn't treat a UTI once you've got it, so you need to take it every day as a preventative, but it's amazingly effective.

I get this too as I’ll get the sudden urge to go and it’ll start as I open the bathroom door. Currently on day one of antibiotics and while I don’t have that symptom this time the burning is pretty bad.

@RileyPiley that's a wise warning .I'm glad I'm only reading it now when my symptoms have abated .
It didn't feel like any UTI I've ever had before ,no pain ,no burning just gushing liquid flooding down my legs .
It even crossed my mind that perhaps some of the mesh implanted to support my bladder and deal with incontinence 25 years ago had failed .
However ,after a bad night with many visits to the loo ( where did it all come from !)I woke to the more "normal" symptoms of burning on weeing and that feeling of incomplete emptying .
Now on anti biotics and feeling almost back to normal .
