I am looking for quite a specific book as a present for DF.

He’s interested in the social/political history of immediate post ww2 period. There’s a series on Radio 4 atm called Post War presented by David Runciman. It’s exactly that kind of thing, but he doesn’t seem to have published a book about it. Any recommendations?

Peter Hennessy (excellent historian) has a post-war book called Never Again.
There must be some about Attlee's government.

That’s perfect, exactly what I had in mind. Thank you!
