How much to drink at prom..

I have accidentally posted this on the bottom of someone else’s thread a minute ago so apologies.

long story short it’s my sons prom and after party coming up. He is 16.
I will be collecting him from the after party which is in a local b and b. It is there every year. The kids wear wrist bands with their parents names and phone numbers on!
I think it’s fine for him to have up to 4 beers. He wants 6 as it is a long day and evening. He had 6 at his dad’s wedding and was fine. (I had no say in this obviously).

Google says more than 4 is heavy drinking but his argument is that it is a one off special occasion.

what are people’s thoughts?

Say 4. Expect him to do what he wants.

Thanks. I don’t think he will be able to get any more than what I buy him so if I buy him 4 I think he will have 4 unless he drinks other peoples. They take drinks with them. I don’t think he would get served for alcohol anywhere as he looks his age.

Tell him what you want, I imagine he will drink whatever he chooses
We are in a similar position and I have no idea whether to send him with booze, assume there will be any or what to do (a parent is hosting)

... sorry, I can't get over the fact the kids are expected to wear an ID wristband - presumably because this event has got out of hand in previous years. What kind of public venue hosts underage drinking?
