Swimming wrap vs wetsuit

Hi everyone, I’m taking my 1 year old swimming for the first time and wondering what to put her in. I’m thinking of getting one of those splash about wraps but worried she won’t be warm enough, but on the other hand worried about her being too warm in a full wetsuit. Just looking for some advice really. Thank you x

Are you talking about the sea or an indoor pool? This country or abroad?

In the U.K. most indoor pools have two or more pools with one being for adult swimming and one for children. The children’s pool is normally significantly warmer and your child won’t need anything beyond a swimming costume and swim nappy for that.

outdoor water - pools are variably heated or not. The sea or rivers clearly are not.

Therefore I would say that if it's a childrens' pool you won't need anything extra. The water in those is almost like a bath!

The baby swim classes we did were in a pool at pretty normal temperature - not chilly but not as warm as children’s pools. The babies were fine.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby or small child in anything more than swim nappy and costume in an indoors pool.
