Wimbledon Tickets

Does anyone have experience of Wimbledon ticket transfer?

I was lucky in the Wimbledon ticket draw this year.

It now looks like I can't now go on the day we are due, so I said my son could have my ticket. Therefore my son and husband would go instead of me and my husband.

However, now looking at the details, it says that ticket are non-transferable. I would therefore have to contact them for a refund, I would assume, for one of the tickets. Although there is an option for transferring tickets. So I am a bit panicked and confused.

Does anyone have any experience of giving your allotted ticket to someone in your family as a gift, and was it allowed?

I'm afraid I don't think it is allowed. Sorry OP.

You can’t transfer them and they do check ID.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 21/06/2025 21:47

You can only transfer one. One has to be in your name if you are the one who bought them. The only option of you can’t go is to return

Yes returning them is your only option if you as the original ticket holder can no longer go.

Pedallleur · 21/06/2025 21:51

Only debenture holderscan transfer their tickets (and make money)

Thanks for your replies. Could have been worse I suppose, I could have found this out next week after they were on their way...

Hi, I applied for Wimbledon tickets through the ballot in September. I’ve already been offered two tickets for the men’s semi finals 2026? I thought you had to wait until February until tickets were distributed? Could this be a scam - it looks like the real thing? Feel like I’m being daft but any experience of this would be appreciated from anyone. Thanks.

LIZS · 29/10/2025 09:43

No it is legit. We got allocated some last week and you accept them via the app.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 29/10/2025 09:52

It used to be Feb but they moved it forward to Oct a couple of years ago. I've got tickets for the QF and my sister for the SF, so after several years of not getting anything and having to camp in the queue, next year we will be going twice 🥳

I got tickets for Centre Court day 1 which worked for me. If you entered the ballot, check your junk folder Weds last week - people have until 3rd Nov to accept tickets before the tickets go back into the pool.

Centre Court on day 1 is awesome! The atmosphere will be amazing, you'll get Sinner opening the play as defending champion, and all for a pretty reasonable price!

Thank you all for your comments!
I think we’re getting them. The seats are ‘up in the gods’ so to speak. At the very top and at the back ‘under the roof’. I still think it’s worth going though?

Imaginethatifyoucan · 29/10/2025 20:30

Is the draw for next year already done?

The first ballot has been done, but they will keep redrawing for tickets that people decline for quite some time yet.

Definitely worth going, you can also watch matches on the outside courts if you want to be a bit closer to the action, although by semi finals day it will be mostly juniors and masters. Do take layers though, it can be quite chilly at the top as those seats never get sunshine.

LIZS · 29/10/2025 20:35

No I doubt it. There will be further rounds as ticket offers are not paid and become reavailable or returned later. Two years ago we got offered in March and family only got theirs in spring this year.

AmicaNemica · 29/10/2025 23:05

There are excellent sight lines even if you are right at the top.

westcott · 01/11/2025 08:20

One day I will be successful in the ballot. I hope anyway

westcott · 01/11/2025 08:25

So is there only likely to be a few returned or are there lots usually not acceptable first time?

LIZS · 01/11/2025 08:28

I think there will be a number of returns between November and Easter

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 01/11/2025 08:47

As well as the returns/declines that get re-balloted for, closer to the time they also go on the website as they come back, but only people who were unsuccessful in the ballot can purchase them. You will get an email about it sometimes in April/May.

Yes that is how we got tickets two years ago rather then direct ballot. It took several attempts to find tickets which worked for us, just a case of luck finding some when you logged in.

AmicaNemica · 01/11/2025 15:40

Yes, nearer the time, Debenture holders and Lawn Tennis Assocs are chased up to make sure allocated seats are taken, then there was a big influx of tickets - possibly mid May (and only occasionally before that). Won't lie, took me half a day of me refreshing browser. Got tickets second week, Centre Court.

Thanks for all your comments.
Just wondered if anyone has any hotel recommendations? We were going to stay in Marlow and travel in? Ideally a nice hotel in Wimbledon would be perfect.

Hotels in Wimbledon will be insanely expensive during the tournament. Much better to look for something on the District line a few stops from Southfields
