Can anyone recommend insurance to put my 17 year old on while he is learning to drive please?

he has had lessons already but wants me to take him out. I have a massive 7 seater so not sure how he will get on with my car so looking at doing maybe a week first and seeing how we get on

Thanks

Veygo, underwritten by Admiral I believe.

You can insure him for an hour, several hours, a month whatever you want. If he crashes or prangs the car it doesn't affect your insurance, just him in future. We used this for Ds when he was learning to drive and put him on my car.

Also to note, you can hire dual control cars too for teaching them to drive. Ahead of him driving your car find out what language his instructor uses, so "more gas" rather than speed up or whatever and as Dh learned the hard way "brake" and "BRAKE" does not mean brake harder to Ds Grin you need to say more brake.

There are lots of driving instructors on youtube, brilliant to see meeting situations and voice overlays of mock tests to gain information. DGN, Conquer Driving and Clearview. As well as Ruby Dashcam to see how it can go pear and where it happens, mainly lane discipline on a roundabout, merging from junctions, lack of mirror usage and bad overtakes. Staggered positioning of the car on roundabouts and especially near HGVs is very important for them to learn. Best of luck to him.

Thank you. The thought of him driving my car I'd truly terrifying if I'm honest. He has dyspraxia and zero coordination but he's survived about 17 hours of lessons with no note so far.
