Rhodes, Greece question

Holidayquestionn · 21/06/2025 15:28

Going on holiday to Rhodes in the summer. Do I need to get a visa beforehand? Or is there anything else I need to do beforehand? I don't want to get the airport and have any probles, get turned away etc.

Thanks in advance.

What is it you don't understand? When was your passport issued? If the dates don't breach the validity rules you are fine.

Does this bit help:

Visa requirements
You can travel without a visa to the Schengen area, which includes Greece, for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. This applies if you travel:

It will be red hot. Take lots of sun cream and be prepared to have to stay indoors with air conditioning in the middle of the day.

Are you staying somewhere with a pool or near the sea?

Holidayquestionn · 21/06/2025 17:42

Wow I do hope you people don't have family members with disabilities or find yourselves that way at some point.
The older I get the more I see how awful some people are.

@CrownCoats
That still doesn't answer my question but thank you for being a decent human being. Yes we have a pool.

If you are on a UK passport and going for less than 90 days you don't need a visa

Erm, I thought my reply was polite and helpful?

Wow. How patronising. Presumably the OP is an adult. What has this got to do with visas?

Vivienne1000 · 21/06/2025 17:47

Just a thought. Chat GPT will clearly list everything you need to know about holidays and visas. When you are in Greece you will have to pay a nightly tourist tax, depending on the accommodation. That is payable on arrival.
it’s all very well people saying it’s going to be hot, but if you are stuck to school holidays, there is not as much choice. Have a great time. We were in Corfu last August and it was amazing.

It was helpful, and we weren't to know the poster has learning disabilities, perhaps she needed it spelled out in simpler language than a government page.

WhatdoesitmeanKeith · 21/06/2025 17:48

OP @MascaraGirl has answered clearly. What is the outstanding query you have?

I will also be travelling to Greece this summer and view the weather as a benefit, not a problem? You honestly don’t have to stay indoors in the middle of the day, unless that’s your choice?

@Holidayquestionn do you mean a learning disability? Posters can help, if you’re still not sure.

Wellifyouresurebetterbegryffindor · 21/06/2025 17:51

Make sure you budget for the tourist tax op. I didnt know about this until just before we travelled and it added 165 to the cost.

SillyMillie90 · 21/06/2025 17:53

We go every year OP, no you don’t. Just make sure your passport is well on date.

You will love it. I can recommend some places to go if you’d like 🥰

Nobody has said anything wrong OP

Supidupi3289 · 21/06/2025 18:09

Do you need a visa? No

What do you need to do before going? Check passport validity.

I don't think you asked any other questions and none of the replies here were rude.

Rhodes has been 40+ degrees the last two summers. You won’t want to do much in that heat.
