Changes to free school meals?

Does anyone know anything about this? School have announced that the government have made changes to the criteria, starting in September 2026 but don't say what the changes are, just that the universal free school meals for years R, 1 and 2 won't be affected.

They are upping the threshold for free school meals, so more children will be entitled to them.

I think it’s that anyone entitled to UC will get free school meals for their children.

That's great news. Since we've been on universal credit we have been entitled to them but for years we were in child/working tax credit and didn't get them.
