Am looking at about 250 really. I have 2 shorthair dogs that are shedding like mad and am sick of the floor fuzz!

I’ve had Roombas and Eufys and they all give up the ghost after a while. We now have a cheap as chips one of these from Amazon and it’s doing just as good a job as the more expensive alternatives. Doesn’t self empty but I can do that myself! On a deal at the moment but guess it might come down even more if you wait for Prime Day in early July?

Oh thankyou for that! The reviews seem positive.

Thats whats putting me off, Spending 500 on something that might not last even 3 years.

I've had my Hetty about 12 years 🤣

@friskybivalvesdo you mind me asking , how well does this cope with ‘height changes’ - we have a little door trim between two rooms about 1cm high, would this be Able to manage it or is it going to get stuck?

Just jumping on this to see what others post as I am exploring the robots. My current floor Hoover and mopper is moving out in September. Going to Uni 🥲
We have a great system in term time I clean and she comes behind me and hoovers and mops. She does everything for me in the summer 🥰 ( for the 💵) So I am looking a replacement for her🥲

Good question! We have all one level floors. I will try to fake a 1cm height difference with a book and see whether it makes it up and over. Will report back! Just about to set it going. Meant also to say that we have a dog who sheds its own weight in hair every day. Clouds of the stuff. I do have to clean the roller but the method of getting the box out etc is far easier than on my eufys (Eufies?).

@friskybivalves We have a eufy X10 pro. Not cheap, but it does mop and vac and can lift itself up onto a rug. It knows the difference between our floor tiles and rugs. Our entire downstairs is flat, but I would think it would cope with a 1cm height difference.

OP- I vaguely recall someone bought a cheap robo vac at either lidl or aldi and thought it was better than the expensive brands. Obviously won't be available to buy all the time, but worth keeping a look out for them.

Thank you @friskybivalves, we also have a stupendously moulty dog so I’m definitely tempted by that alone. We used to have a little vileda ‘robot sweeper’ rather than vacuum but the little ledge means that it kept getting itself beeched and it would squalk and whinge so I refuse to use it now! But I think think some of the more powerful/expensive hoovers with suction are better equipped for getting over lumps/edges etc

Nearly50omg · 20/06/2025 11:43

I’ve got a eufy and I’m sending it back after 3 weeks! It’s obsessed with eating rugs even when they are marked out of bounds on the app, doesn’t actually hoover the floor and seems to make more mess than when it started, mops the carpets and doesn’t mop the tiled floor. All the settings are right and even when left to its own devices it gets into trouble! I’m sick of shouting at it to leave the door mat/lounge rug etc alone 🤣 cost me £350 and complete waste of money although the kids love it as they laugh watching me getting annoyed at it

Nearly50omg · 20/06/2025 11:44

The new Dyson which is £1350 is worth every penny. Also mops the floor!
