Returned from mat leave and role gone

Probably an age old story but I recently returned from mat leave to find my role has basically gone. I had two main focus areas and these have been taken over by other people and I am cut out. I have tried to get a straight and just been told I will still be involved. These were the areas that were my main focus and I arguably lead on them.

Does anyone have any advice?
