So my last thread I wrote on here was full of doom and gloom and the person I was then is not the person I am now .

Back then I was a depressed, miserable, emotional mess, there was no enjoyment in my life and I used to wake up each day dreading the day ahead and go to sleep at night hoping I wouldn’t awake up .

But today I have been reading a book and it states to find gratitude in each day and find 10 things each day that you’re grateful for . So here’s mine :

I am grateful for my health . Last year I was going through cancer and was very poorly . I’m now in remission

I am grateful I have a roof over my head and a lovely home I can call my own

I am grateful for my children and the better relationship I have with them

I am grateful for the friends I now have

I am grateful for the kindness of strangers

I am grateful for the beautiful sunshine but also the rain

I am grateful for going for walks in the lovely nature reserve near me

I am grateful for being able to relax

I am grateful for cleaning (When I was homeless I dreamt of having a home to clean )

I am grateful for being able to have long baths

What are you grateful for today?

I'm grateful for having had a day off work today, reading my book in the garden. I'm grateful my adult ds took his teen brother for a day out at a theme park to celebrate end of GCSEs.

I'm grateful for having a great bunch of girl guides in my company. And also grateful that the one who clearly doesn't want to be there is going to boarding school after the summer holidays. I hope she finds her tribe.

It's sad when you get one that just doesn't want to be there. Sometimes though you get the child that has a rubbish life but that hour and a half each week is the highlight for them. You just see that sparkle appear and see the baggage just drop as they are now in their safe space. I miss the 10-14 age group in many ways.
