Have visitors coming next week for a few weeks. Was going to put an older child on an air mattress but that probably won't be suitable for a few weeks.

I would like to buy a bed and time is running out for me.

I ordered a wooden bed frame from IKEA yesterday but I cancelled the order because although it would fit, space will be small between beds. The width of the bed was 99 cm.

I would like a 90 × 190 divan bed but can't find home delivery in time. That would be the most suitable for sizing. Howeve4 it is also an older cold house and gets damp. I don't want a fabric bed.

I found this powder coated metal bed on IKEA. This seems to be suitable. The width is 96.

However it doesn't have a headboard.

Do I need a headboard?

There is a different metal bed with headboard that is 98cm in width.

I saw the beds on Amazon and I do like their selection of metal beds however the slats are not wooden but metal. And I don't think that is suitable? What you do think.

Just found the IKEA neiden bed. It is a wooden frame and has a small headboard and 96 cm in width.

I think that might do me

I would prefer the metal one above though. Just it doesn't have a headboard.

IMO no it doesn't need a headboard.

We haven’t had a headboard in 30 years!

Thanks for the replies. I suppose I was going to use an air mattress with no headboard.

no headboard needed if the head of the bed is against a wall, stops pillows falling off

Can you manage well without a headboard?

It would be against a wall, however pillows would probably slip down. I don't know.

Thanks for the replies. I feel more confident getting a bed without a headboard now.
