We’re on holiday for 5 days in the Peak District and the people here are so lovely.

We arrived on Monday on the campsite and realised we had forgotten bin bags- not stocked in campsite shop. But the owner fetched some from their home and gave me a pack. Refused to take any payment

Turned on the van to go to Buxton yesterday and it was showing a fault which meant the engine would stop after 400 miles. Rang a garage in Buxton and initially they were fully booked up until July. However they said to bring it in and they would see if they could diagnose the fault. 5 hours later van was all fixed while we explored the town and the beautiful park. And the price we were charged was extremely reasonable

on the way back to campsite we followed Google maps and turned up a road only to be stopped after a few yards by a car driver who said to turn while we could and take another road a couple of miles up the road as the one we were on would be unsuitable for our large vehicle- again saved from a stressful and long reverse.

Aren’t most people just lovely. Everyone has been so friendly and kind

Welcome to the Peaks 😉 I'm half an hour north from you, and made my home here 20 years ago. Love it.
