Rented property offer withdrawn

Was hoping someone may have some advice for DD. She has just finished her degree at a London Uni and starts a job in central London (nearest tube station to office is St Paul's).
She had been offered a room in a lovely flat in an area of central London by the parents of a friend and was due to move in, in August.
She has just been told that the offer of the room is withdrawn as the family now need it for one of their DC due to a change in their circumstances.
DD is gutted and has been crying for 2 days. She has a group of friends who might let her join them when they move into their new rental in August. If this doesn't come off, is there anything else anyone can think of apart from looking on Rightmove and Spare Room?
Which areas of London are good for commuting to central London?
Feel so sorry for her and don't know how to advise her as we don't know London at all.

St Pauls is not difficult to reach. Look along Central line, Lizzy line, Thameslink(City) or London Bridge

Something like Bethnal Green or Mile End would work for the Central line.

She should also be aware that most people have at least 40 minute commute so looking a bit further out is fine. She can check commute times on the tfl app.
