C25K app question

Didn't want to derail any of the ongoing support threads with a daft question.

I did C25K a few years ago and have kept up the running, but find myself getting slower and covering less distance so I thought I'd give it a try again.

But......... I hated the music on the app I used last time (I think it was the NHS app, but I might be misremembering. I've just looked on the app store and there are numerous options, but I can't see how to find out what music they use. Is there any way of doing this other than downloading the apps one by one and listening?

I used one with no music and very little banter, just told you when you walk or run, and a handy bell at half way so you can turn around. Zen jab maybe? Then used this app with Spotify tunes.

The nhs c25k app itself doesn’t have music, that’s just on the podcasts, and it’s free so nothing lost if you decide you don’t like it.

The official app posted above has no music.

You play your own music first, eg on Spotify, and it reduces the volume automatically when they speak.

Thanks everyone.

Daft question number 2 - so could I just have a podcast playing then?

Do you mean alongside the c25k app? You could but there’s a fair bit of speaking in the first few weeks as you move from run to walk and vice versa fairly regularly so you’d miss bits. I listened to music I loved initially then swapped to podcasts for the longer continuous runs 😁
