Is this gift a bit too much?

Lovely lovely friend is due a womb biopsy, also suffering from gallstones at the moment and getting fairly frequent attacks. We live 5 hours apart so hardly ever see each other,

I’ve done her a wee care parcel - I’ve packed in fancy tea, aromatherapy oil, a book bundle (3 in a series, they’re tat but really funny), a cute bookmark and a posh lipbalm.

Is that a bit weird? I think she would do the same for me to be honest, but I’m not sure. I don’t want to her to think I’m being daft but if it was me suffering I’d really appreciate the thought..

I think that's really thoughtful. I would be so pleased to get a present when I'm worried and unwell.

sesquipedalian · 15/06/2025 17:32

I think you sound like a lovely friend, and I’m sure your thoughtful parcel will be much appreciated.

Conqueeftador · 15/06/2025 17:32

I think that’s a lovely idea op.

MaggieBsBoat · 15/06/2025 17:34

How lovely. I’d love to have a friend like you. I do things like this but no one ever thinks of me like that (insert sad face)

SupportivePantsAndHusband · 15/06/2025 17:34

That's so lovely. If she say " that's daft you shouldn't have" it will be her shyness. It's nice to have someone think of you when you're ill and do such a thoughtful gesture.

familyissues12345 · 15/06/2025 17:41

Aww, I think you sound like a lovely mate

Pixiesfan · 15/06/2025 21:03

ninjahamster · 15/06/2025 21:04

I’d be so delighted with that. You sound lovely, do you need anymore friends? 😂

Please post it, you sound lovely, after my surgery a friend of mine bought me bath salts, books and some fluffy socks, it was so lovely and thoughtful.

Nappster · 16/06/2025 18:36

This sounds like a lovely idea if you added tea add peppermint tea as this helps with gallstone pain, just had mine out

TartanMammy · 16/06/2025 18:45

I'd be delighted with this. It shows you care and are thinking about her but it isn't over the top. I'd love to have a friend like you.

EssexGurl · 16/06/2025 18:59

This is lovely. I had a major operation a couple of years ago. My oldest friend did this. So much more thoughtful than just flowers. It still means a lot when I think of it. You're a fantastic friend.

Moobear1420 · 16/06/2025 19:00

Arlanymor · 16/06/2025 19:01

I think you’re lovely and so thoughtful! Your friend will really appreciate you being so kind and caring! Not too much at all. 💖

Daisy12Maisie · 16/06/2025 20:00

I think that’s lovely. Anything to show you are thinking of her. I’m not a gift person but if I was unwell that is the one time I would appreciate it.

Laura95167 · 16/06/2025 20:37

I think that's lovely. Really appropriate and thoughtful, I hope you have equally thoughtful friends yph deserve them

Tiredandtiredagain · 16/06/2025 20:39

From someone currently receiving chemo, I can tell you those care packages that people have sent me, have lifted me a lot.

Its so nice to receive them, so thoughtful and makes me feel so loved.

Theeffingcleaner · 16/06/2025 20:40

I fractured my wrist a couple of weeks ago. One of my clients I clean for bought me an orchid plant, big box of chocolates and also family size lasagne, I was to say the least so shocked she had gone to all that effort for me. So thankful for her thoughtful kindness.Go for it op it’s not weird at all it’s lovely of you to do it. No doubt she will appreciate your thoughtfulness and kind gesture and will know that you are thinking of her during her health issues❤️

MoreChocPls · 16/06/2025 21:27

Really nice of you.

SaxaSoLo · 16/06/2025 21:31

I don’t like aromatherapy oil, the books don’t sound very me and I have a tonne of lip balm. Would I be pleased to get your gift? I’d be over the moon! I’d be beyond touched that someone was bothered enough to go to that trouble for me. I’d try it all and even if I didn’t like it I’d be flipping grateful! If you think it’s a bit OTT maybe just pop in one book, the first of the series. You can always send the others on if she likes it.

Cheesesteakyum · 16/06/2025 21:33

Sounds lovely, I need a friend like you ❤️
