Sad on Father’s Day

I know I should just stay off social media but all these “happy Father’s Day to the best dad!” Posts are making me sad. I can’t say that about DH. He spent most of the day pissed off at the toddler for the crime of being a typical toddler and being shitty and irritable with me because of it. We have a newborn so he’s doing 90% of the toddler parenting while I breastfeed. And he’s just not the best dad, not even nearly. He’s quite mean to her because he has no patience.

And it’s making me sad. Anyone else feel the same?

I think Father’s Day and Mother’s Day should be abolished. Too many people have crap parents that make these days difficult.

@BeMintFatball maybe we’ll just abolish them in my household… we didn’t really do much except go out for breakfast and then argue all afternoon. Not fun at all.

I feel the same on father's day. I left my ex due to abuse and my son deserves to much better than him.
We made him a card with my sons drawing and that simply said Happy Father's Day.

I couldn't bring myself to buy one that says "best dad" etc. Because he certainly isn't.

Rediculous. You can’t ban the whole thing for that reason.

@makeachange25I can imagine that’s hard. Having to put on a brave face for your son but knowing that it’s not what you’d do given a choice.
