Whimsical yet charitable wedding gift

Butters Stotch Bathroom GIF by South Park

I know a couple of cool 20 year olds getting married this year. They’re very wholesome, conservative Christians. I want to get them a memorable gift - they will move in together after the wedding, and their house is prepped with items already.

I was thinking of buying them a ‘toilet twinning’ certificate. Twinning their toilet to one in a 3rd world country. I know the church they attend has these (cost about £60-£80)

its whimsical and a bit silly - but is it bad taste idea? They are both very charitable and generous people.

if this is stupid - then any other ideas for this hip, but conservative young couple?

I'd buy a pot - doesn't everyone like a nice hand crafted ethical locally produced piece of pottery! Could be something functional.

That does sound a nice idea, but I think most wedding gifts these days are just cash in a card. The young couple can then put it towards whatever they need, or maybe some luxuries on their honeymoon or something.

I think the toilet twinning idea is great. I think it comes with a poster when you sign up. You could frame it and give it to them to display in their toilet.

I would avoid large charity organisations as your donation is mostly swallowed by overpaid directors.

What about getting in touch with a local volunteer group for a park and donating a tree in their name or an animal charity that needs a specific something to help them?
