Awful summer virus

Does anyone else have this?

I’m day 11 and feeling worse.

Started as a rattle awful cough not really runny nose or anything. But now I have a raging sore throat and a cough.

I also feel really unwell and want to stay in bed!

The new strain of covid just hitting the U.K. is awful, maybe it’s that?

Is it hayfever? I am struggling and every year at this time I have a dry cough, sore throat and feel really tired.

I'm the other way round, razor blade throat - which almost feels like it's behind my Adam's Apple - which isn't really improving and now a cough which makes me sound like I've a 40 a day smoking habit!
No cold, no runny nose or fever, but do feel generally crap.
The new covid variant - Nimbus - mentions a really sore throat

I have these symptoms and feel shocking. Tested out of interest, it’s Covid.

Razor blade throat is a symptom of the latest Nimbus strain of covid.

I think I had this. I had a cough/cold for over a month!!! Felt dreadful for weeks and just wanted to be in bed!

Yes I just want to be in bed! the sore throat is minor the the coughs is distinctive and I feel awful. It’s Covid’s or flu.

I had an awful cold after a cruise in April and I have just revered from that. That took three weeks . I also think that was Covid

my friends 14 year old daughter said I had the immunity of a Victorian child and she isn’t wrong

Yes, me and DP but with totally different symptoms.

He's been sniffly and tired for a week and now has literally slept for 2 days, hot and cold, couldn't eat.

I've had a cough,it started to improve then went downhill midweek. Now got a constant cough, can't lie down, can't sleep, coughing so hard I'm wearing pads cos I keep leaking pee. My throat is now like razor blades from coughing and it's moved into snotty nose and earache too.

I'm absolutely fed up with it.

Yes, I had a nasty virus last month and hoped that would be it for a while. Then started feeling unwell last week, tested on Friday & have Covid. Have spent the whole weekend mostly in bed while coming downstairs every so often! Absolutely exhausted 😴 have started coughing a lot today which is frustrating as had a dreadful cough with the last virus!

I tested positive last night after feeling generally unwell, totally spaced out and really grumpy for a couple of days. The throat was the give away for me and today everything hurts. Everything but especially my head, eyes and back. Had to get up in the night to get ice pack for my head.

I’m hopeful it doesn’t get loads worse… I think this is day three for me. I know exactly where I got it from last week too, there was only one possibility.

Was on a packed train, and at least one person on there really ill. Then on tube and someone was really ill on there too. Absolutely selfish mofos. Just stay in fricking bed rather than going out and infecting 200 people you come into contact with that day. If I got it from them being one of dozens of people a few metres away I hate to think how many others have too.

Yep, 10 days in and generally much better but still a cough. Last weekend felt overall bad with the really sore throat, made the mistake of trying to eat a tomato and it really hurt!

How’s everyone doing now with this virus ?, I’m still struggling with a sore throat and fatigue from it. Its been nearly 4 weeks !

Still really unwell have had antibiotics and been signed off for two weeks with post viral fatigue - I’m utterly devastated! I feel AWFUL and just want to be in bed.

I’m sat in the sofa in my dressing gown. Buying pyjamas for next week.

I'm feeling very sorry for myself and sad about work. But also relieved a so kept crying at work because I felt so awful!

Its proper nasty, i feel wiped out and my digestion is really off as well. Get well soon

And you too. The digestion thing s a symptom of the new nimbus Covid. I think this is what I had. Twice since April

I’ve just started with a bad cold virus. I feel dreadful. I hate being ill in summer!

Interesting - my digestion has been off since I had it… I hadn’t put the two together. Have heard so many people going down with Covid in recent days, but everyone ignoring it and saying just a sore throat… until they get really unwell and have already infected 25 people

I’m thinking I have this .. since Sunday my back went I felt sick and bad and I had upset stomach a few days ago .. 5 days later I feel wiped out and I love walking in nature and just don’t feel strong enough 😤

It's a horrid virus. DH and I both started with it a month ago - horrid cough, sore throat and feeling tired. Just last weekend, after 3.5 weeks, we stated to feel better. Then this week, the cough has come back worse than ever - a really horrible cough which makes your rib muscles hurt and makes you feel like vomiting. I also seem to have acquired a blocked nose, headache and sneezing. I am really fed up now - feels like I have been ill for ages.

quick update - i finally feel like me again! Only this week I feel 100%

took 9 weeks and I felt at one point I would never get better.

Glad you’re feeling better, I’ve picked up another along the way,I’m 3 weeks in and its the worst I’ve felt in a long time, covid negative I’ve never known a simmer like it for viruses !

@JTA1972yes this happens to me two back to back in a nightmare scenario!

Just had a really vicious summer cold, which seemed to come out of nowhere and get bad fast. Started with a sore throat. Seems to be improving a lot on day 6, apart from the snot - hoping I haven't jinxed myself and it will keep improving. Properly rough and felt more like a winter virus. DC got it and for them they had a high temp.
